Mother's Day Magic aka Easy DIY Gifts

First off, if your are the Mom or Mother-in-law in my life STOP READING! Spoiled surprises are no fun. If you're everyone else, keep on going! I've been a bit pressed for time lately, so getting too fancy with crafting wasn't an option, but I didn't want to buy some boring, typical Mother's Day gifts either.  Only one of them was actually planned before this week, so these are definitely workable for anyone with limited free time.

This personalized wall hanging was easily made using the free Wordle application. All you do is type in your own words and it makes them into these cool montages. It also ranks the words by size depending on frequency, so to get Mom to be biggest I typed it in about 6 times. You can also change the font, placement direction of the words, even the colors!  And you don't need to be a computer genius to do it.  These would also be cool to use as cards, items for the kiddies and the list goes on.  After printing it out on cardstock, I decided to mount one on canvas, paint the sides and die cut some shapes for decoration.

This one I simply framed for a more store-bought look,

I used some thumbnail pics of our springtime family photos to make the marble magnets.  Whoever invented this idea was pretty clever.  Simply cut out the tiny pic, glue them onto the back of some flat decorator marbles and when dry, glue a little magnet to the back.

Last, but not least, I made these fun reusable shopping bags.  This is the actual recycled pop bottle fabric all the bags you buy at the store are made from, but way cuter prints (instead of store logos).  I found this at Joann's for $2.99/yd and you can make 4 good sized bags from a yard, so it's cute and budget-friendly.

Hopefully the Moms in our life will enjoy these - I know I wouldn't mind getting some of these;)
