Craft-A-Day: 365 Simple Handmade Crafts Book Review

Today I've got a newly released craft book to share called Craft-A-Day: 365 Simple Handmade Projects by Sarah Goldschadt.  I was given a copy to review and enjoyed checking out such a big book of cute creations.  As the name says, this book gives you a simple craft for every day of the year.

The book is laid out in weekly themes, some seasonal, some just cute and there's a photograph for each project too.

The main premise of the book is to be able to make easy and whimsical crafts, all year long, and with no advanced skills or needing special tools.  I definitely think the book delivers on that.  The basic supplies list is made up of things most people already have around the house and the book provides all the design templates.

The instructions for the projects are simple enough that a non-crafter or most kids could make successfully.
There is a bit of repetition - a lot are paper crafts & same project format, but with a different theme.  The advantage in the repetition is the ability to repurpose a paper shape from one project to another lickety-split.  And there's also the whole adage "practice makes perfect" - the more you make an item, the better you'll get at it, so it could be a fun way for a craft novice to gain some experience too.

For those of us that aren't new to crafting, I think the lure of this book is that it's perfect for making projects with kids and ideal for helping in putting together themed parties.  There are enough cute motifs to create some really adorable showers, birthdays and holiday celebrations, all on your own, and in no time at all.

You can find more info on the book HERE.  Craft-A-Day is now available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
