Fun For Fall: Reversible Serena Dress

It's finally feeling like Fall around here, so it was about time to get going on some seasonal clothes for the kids.  I'd bought the perfect fabrics ages ago.  The challenge, however, has been getting the time to actually make them.

On the plus side, I had an easy dress pattern ready to go - my Serena Reversible Dress.  I used it in the summer to make some breezy sundresses.  Swap the cotton for some corduroy and now it's an autumn jumper!

The second I found these two coordinating prints, I knew I'd use them to make this dress, since it's reversible.  Two dresses made at once is a big time saver for me and this can be knocked out in under 30 minutes.

I also decided to add a little pocket to the polka dot side for some added style.

When I made the pattern, I pegged this size as 6-12 months, but at 13 mos she's still got plenty of dress-wearing time left, so it's really more of a 6-18 months.  The added bonus is it will get a second life as a swing-style top as she gets even older, so its lifespan is way longer than a lot of other items in the closet.  Yay!

If you're interested in this pattern, it's available in my Etsy shop here so everyone can make their own.  Now I'm off to come up with a few more of these little babies!

  7. Hi,

Thank you for visiting me and leaving such a nice comment. This dress is so cute! When my daughter was a baby with each outfit I also made a hat; it was such fun. I still enjoy sewing but fabric is so hard to find...now I buy it when I can find it and stash it away.(-: This reversible dress is adorable!
