Organizing CAN Be Fun: Do It With Fabric!

I like to think I am a "neat person", but really suspect I am just the sort who likes things to
look neat (read: contained clutter). My issue is I have a hard time finding cute containers that are super functional, so I designed what I call my Funky Foldable Fabric Box. Say that 10 times fast!

A fun & funky print on one side, a solid on the other, with a firm interior layer for structure and all tied up with some little bows. Untying & retying the bows makes it easy to switch the print from outside to inside (so it's completely reversible) and to also store the box flat when not in use. This is a huge plus to me since I never know where to put empty jars, tubs & baskets when not in use, which usually just adds to the clutter. I can think of a million ways to use these though, so I doubt they'll ever be stored flat! In fact, I've got several more in the works so there will be enough!

Like it & want one of your very own? Maybe looking for some eco-friendly baby apparel? I've decided to subsidize my sewing addiction by selling some of my wares, like these boxes, on Etsy. You can visit my shop, The Green Hedgehog, here.

  1. Oh my word! What a fab idea! I had no idea that you had started an Etsy -- awesome stuff in there, btw!

That's so funny because today I was in the store and saw the little girl's dress (with the bird fabric) and thought "that fabric looks SO familiar to me!" but couldn't place it; they looked so professionally sewn (love your tags) it never even occurred to me that they hadn't come from a company! (:

  2. Thanks! Still a work in progress, but I've had a sale already, so I'm feeling good about it:)

That is a huge compliment on the dress, especially coming from someone as talented as you!
