When this step is done and the bottom seam for all the layers is sewn the pockets are created. I hope this helps and your bag is ready to use soon:)Sew Can Dohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03411538881134901843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2578269999856867237.post-59921427410224309072012-05-22T00:41:37.598-04:002012-05-22T00:41:37.598-04:00Hi Cheryl, I am almost finished with the bag, just...Hi Cheryl, I am almost finished with the bag, just the handles left and closing the top. BUt when I put my hands in the outer pockets, they go through to the space between the outside and the lining. What am I doing wrong? Which step completes the pockets before sewing the outer and inner layers together as you said above? I feel so incompetent.susan718https://www.blogger.com/profile/10281745184225186748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2578269999856867237.post-74591447019393089412012-05-08T06:53:26.875-04:002012-05-08T06:53:26.875-04:00thank you so much. The start point of hemming is where the two sides begin to cross when put together, so the dot would be 8.5 inches down from the strap marking. I hope this answers your question and I would love to see a picture of your bag when you have it finished!Sew Can Dohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03411538881134901843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2578269999856867237.post-29559557201408563322012-05-07T12:23:17.019-04:002012-05-07T12:23:17.019-04:00Question on the fresh start bag. This keeps each of the pockets completely self-contained - there's no chance of anything going in between the layers. It will be more apparent when you see the material in front of you. Hope this helps and would love to see your bag when it's made!Sew Can Dohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03411538881134901843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2578269999856867237.post-16152378797706779662012-05-05T22:18:46.234-04:002012-05-05T22:18:46.234-04:00Hi,

I just have a question about the pockets-how do you keep things in the pocket if the inside is not stitched closed? Maybe I misunderstood the directions, but it seemed that there is nothing stopping things from going into the space between the body and the lining.

I'm really looking forward to making the bag, but am waiting to hear about the pocket first. thanks so much, so happy to find your blog

Susansusan718https://www.blogger.com/profile/10281745184225186748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2578269999856867237.post-57537518879990102622012-05-05T21:29:45.486-04:002012-05-05T21:29:45.486-04:00Yay!
